ІСТОРИЧНИЙ ДОСВІД ЗАСТОСУВАННЯ ЗБРОЙНИХ СИЛ США У ВИРІШЕННІ МІГРАЦІЙНИХ ПРОБЛЕМ У РОКИ ХОЛОДНОЇ ВІЙНИ

У статті досліджено роль Збройних сил США у підтримці урядових завдань з допомоги біженцям та вимушеним мігрантам у період Холодної війни. Проаналізовано воєнний досвід роботи з біженцями та участь в операціях «Mercy» 1956–1957 рр., «New Life/Arrivals» 1975–1976 рр., завдання, що виконували збройні сили під час «Маріельської переправи» 1980 р. Встановлено, що збройні сили відігравали провідну роль у забезпеченні підтримки біженців, здійснюючи планування і координацію операцій, виконуючи рятувальні та транспортні завдання, розміщуючи мігрантів на території військових баз і аеродромів. Окрім облаштування таборів у військових містечках, підрозділи організовували соціальну роботу серед біженців, здійснювали медичне забезпечення, в окремих випадках виконували правоохоронні функції. Таким чином, Збройні сили США почали залучатися до виконання нетрадиційних завдань, що полягали в гуманітарній підтримці іммігрантів на території країни під час процесу їх натуралізації або репатріації.
